Indoor golf in London: the complete guide for 2026

London has more indoor golf venues than any other city in Europe. Not one or two golf simulator bays tucked away in a basement somewhere, but a proper network: exclusive clubs along the Thames, self-service pods next to padel clubs in Wembley and Ilford. And since July, Five Iron too. The American indoor golf chain landed on Broadgate with a European flagship of more than 6,900 square feet. Whether you live in London, work there or visiting for a weekend, there is almost certainly a venue within twenty minutes of you.

Plenty of choice, but that leaves one question: which one suits you best? The differences are big. Some venues are perfect for a Friday night out with a group of colleagues, a beer and nacho’s, and others are quiet venues where you work on your swing and nobody bothers you. We will walk you through it!

Why indoor golf works in London

For anyone still wondering whether indoor golf is the same as playing outside: it is not, and it does not need to be. A modern golf simulator gives you a detailed reading of your swing, the option to play hundreds of international courses and the chance to finish a full round in an hour instead of half a day.

To reach the nearest outdoor club you have to drive out of the city through heavy traffic, tee times go quickly, and from October to March it is dark before most people leave the office. An indoor venue solves all of that at once. You can hit balls at seven in the morning before your first meeting or play a tournament with friends on a Thursday evening. Whether you’re an experienced golfer or have never held a club, the barrier to teeing off has never been lower.

Five Iron Golf Broadgate

Five Iron Golf, with more than thirty venues across the United States, opened its first European site in July on the ground floor of British Land’s Broadgate campus.

The 6,900 square foot venue has eight Trackman bays with Five Iron’s multi-angle camera setup for real time swing feedback, access to more than 440 courses, coaching, custom fitting and memberships. There is also a bar, a restaurant and a large terrace.

Broadgate is the first of a ten site franchise agreement in the UK, led by Five Iron Golf UK chief executive Eric Parker, as part of an expansion worth twenty million pounds.

Tee Box

Tee Box is where you go for the serious work. Fourteen TrackMan simulators across two locations. This is about getting better, not about a night out.

Both sites carry the latest Callaway and TaylorMade equipment as standard in every bay. There are lockers too, if you want to leave your own set in town. The putting setup is what sets it apart: Tee Box has the only Zen Green Stage and SAM PuttLab in London, which means you can set the green to any slope you like and measure your stroke properly, alongside a putting programme developed with Phil Kenyon. Custom fitting, swing evaluations and a range of memberships complete the picture. The venue scores 4.9 out of 5 on Google from more than 360 reviews.

Pitch City

Pitch’s original clubhouse sits on Bishopsgate, a stone’s throw from Liverpool Street, in a Grade-II listed building. On the ground floor you will find a bar and lounge for the social side, and in the basement there are eight large bays running TrackMan. This is the ideal spot for a team outing where people still take a proper swing at the ball.

Project Golf

Project Golf near Moorgate was set up by Advanced PGA Professionals with more than thirty years of experience between them, and you can tell from the fit-out. Five TrackMan 4 simulators in an air conditioned underground studio, Swing Catalyst slow motion recording, a dedicated putting green and Callaway custom fitting.

Grip Golf Tower Bridge

Grip Golf is the answer for anyone whose diary does not fit normal opening hours. This venue is open 24/7: members get a personal door code and book through the app, so a five in the morning session before you head to the airport is entirely possible!

The place feels more like a private club. Membership tiers are built around unlimited off peak play, with a cap on peak hours. Grip Golf also has a second London studio at Deptford Park, open 08:00 to 22:00, and a site in Bexleyheath that is currently at full capacity. You can also book the space for groups of 12 to 60.

Urban Golf

Urban Golf opened the UK’s first indoor golf venue on Smithfield Street twenty years ago. Those doors have now closed (July 2026), because the team is moving to a brand new home, Urban Golf St Paul’s, opening later this year.

The Smithfield formula was roughly 50% golf, 40% craft beer and 10% good company. Eleven simulators, the famous fried chicken from award winning chef James Cochran and a DJ at weekends. The new site at St Paul’s is expected to carry the same DNA, with better technology.

Rates at the old Smithfield venue: £40 per hour off peak, £80 at peak times, £60 on Saturdays. The Bunker (private room) at £100 off peak and £120 at peak.

Status: Smithfield closed on 25 July 2026, Urban Golf St Paul’s opening later in 2026.

Golf simulator venues in Canary Wharf and Soho

Pitch Wharf

Pitch’s flagship, and the most complete social venue in this guide. Eleven bays across two floors, an outdoor terrace with waterfront views, several social lounges and a broad food and drink offering. If golf is not for everyone in the group, there is plenty else to keep them entertained!

Pitch Soho

This Pitch venue works as a refuge from the bustle of Soho, or as the start of a night out in it. A warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent cocktails and a regular run of good events. Pitch Soho uses the same technology (TrackMan) as Canary Wharf.

Indoor golf in east London

Hackney Links

A fairly new east London venue in Lower Clapton, set up explicitly around access rather than exclusivity. Members get reduced rates plus AI Trainer and Swing Optics, and there is a steady run of competitions and socials. One thing to note: Hackney currently only suits right handed players, so left handers should get in touch first.

Indoor golf in south-east London

The City Golf Club

Everything at The City Golf Club is built around the golfer. No shuffleboard, no DJ, but three TrackMan iO bays around 25 per cent larger than the market average, which makes a real difference when you open up with a driver. Add a tour-quality putting green and a PGA pro to move your game on. It is a proper members' club: you can visit seven days a week from 06:00 to 23:00, so a session before work is easy. Not a member yet? Limited pay and play has recently been added, so you can come and try it first.

Golf simulator venues in west and south-west London

Caddi Club

Four venues, twenty-six TrackMan bays in total and coaches on site everywhere, with the club feel at the heart of it. There is a monthly Meet, Greet & Compete competition, day-trips to courses around London, and dedicated socials for women.

The Wimbledon venue is now the biggest indoor golf site in the UK: twelve bays, a restaurant, a lounge and an outdoor terrace. Caddi Club took the site over from The Golf Groove, so if you have played there before, this is the same venue under new ownership.

Fulham, on the Thames Path in Fulham Reach, has six bays, a bar and a restaurant that is open to non members too. Waterloo has four bays with TrackMan iO, a lounge and a bar, and is located within walking distance of the station, which makes it ideal for a quick round on your lunch break. Chelsea is for members only and currently has a waitlist.

Tempo

At Tempo Golf Club in Queen’s Park the day runs on moments: a flat white at nine, a round of golf at eleven, a Guinness at three, and sitting outside when the sun is out. Six TrackMan iO bays and a coffee bar where you can quite happily work through your emails (or take an aesthetic photo of your coffee 😉). Memberships for regulars, hourly bookings for visitors, and coaching for kids and adults alike.

North London Golf Academy

Not a chain, but an academy. And the face of it? That is Giulio Merolla: director, head PGA Pro and the man who teaches you himself. His students rave about him. One review notes that he is an excellent coach, but that he also has amazing taste in music and knows how to dance. Handy, because Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there is Disco Golf! There are three bays, each with TrackMan and 4K projection. The special extra is that you can hire a launch monitor, so you can keep practising at home between sessions.

Indoor golf across the rest of Greater London

PodGolf

Possibly the most distinctive indoor golf concept in London. PodGolf builds compact, private pods. There are now nine locations spread across the city, next to padel clubs, racquet clubs and shopping centres.

Every pod is fully self-service. You book online, get the door code by email, and let yourself in. Callaway clubs are free to use with every booking (a deposit is held).

Bookings are for one to four players with no extra charge for numbers. A credit pack saves you up to twenty per cent, and PodGolf can put you in touch with partner PGA coaches for lessons.

Locations: Wandsworth, Westfield White City, Earl’s Court, Canada Water, Chiswick, Surbiton, Wembley, Ilford, Hampstead. Bays: self-service pods, up to 4 players. For a real club feel. Caddi Club, across four venues, with a full events programme and shared activities.

For convenience and price. PodGolf, with nine self-service pods spread from Wembley to Ilford and Surbiton, from £29 per hour for up to four players.

Indoor golf has found its place in London

Indoor golf lets you play virtual courses using a simulator. You hit real balls with real clubs into a screen, while radar and cameras measure your swing and ball flight in real time and project the result onto a world-famous course. You see club path, face angle, ball speed, spin and carry on every shot. It is full golf, but indoors, all year round.
